Many people have talked about seperating style from content (2, 3, 4), but for those of us who also code, what about seperating code from content? At present I’m in the process of coding a backend for a new site, but because I’m only at the intermediate stage of my PHP learning curve I’m still finding it difficult to learn how to best implement this.
Should I employ some sort of templating engine or maybe get creative with php classes?

Update: Man Utd 0 - 1 AC Milan
Thanks to another howler from goalkeeper Roy Carroll, AC Milan won their first game on english soil in over 20 years. What should have been a routine save from a fairly timid shot, Carroll spilled the ball and Crespo put it in the back of the net.
Overall, United didn’t play well at all. Even with a five man midfield, Utd failed to dominate the centre of the pitch and with Rooney up front on his own, made very little impact on the game. Ruud came on with 30 minutes to go but because he was back from a 3 month injury, he too failed to make much of an impact.
It’s certainly going to be an uphill battle in the second leg!
BBC Sport : Man Utd -v- AC Milan
Big game for Man Utd tonight! I hope Van the Man makes his return. We could do with him up front. Not that Rooney isn’t doing a good job at the moment. He is, but you can’t not be impressed with Ruud’s european goal scoring record.
I hope Sir Alex doesn’t decide to play the likes of Quinten Fortune or Phil Neville. We’ll need all the big players (like Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Ronaldo) tonight. Let’s make sure we have enough goals under our belt for when we have to go to the San Siro.
Good luck Man Utd !!

There’s an interesting story posted on the BBC Technology website about the impact bloggers can have on those in positions of responsibility and about how journalists are not too impressed about it all.
Well worth a read.

From the BBC Technology website:
Nicholas Negroponte, chairman and founder of MIT’s Media Labs, says he is developing a laptop PC that will go on sale for less than $100 (£53).
While this sounds too good to be true, Nicholas goes on to say
The device will probably be exported as a kit of parts to be assembled locally to keep costs down.
So, it’s kinda a do it yourself laptop
I wonder if the instructions will be any better than the ones that come with kitchen units and stuff ![]()

Wired Vision has been successfully upgraded to Wordpress v1.5.
While the upgrade itself was pretty straight forward, the additional pages that I added myself took a bit of time to get right because of the introduction of “themes”.
The admin control panel has had some slight modifications. The addition of the “Dashboard” as the homepage when you log in is a good idea, but I’d prefer an option to disable it
Other than that I’ve no complaints. Job well done!
