Man Utd -v- AC Milan

Update: Man Utd 0 - 1 AC Milan

Thanks to another howler from goalkeeper Roy Carroll, AC Milan won their first game on english soil in over 20 years. What should have been a routine save from a fairly timid shot, Carroll spilled the ball and Crespo put it in the back of the net.

Overall, United didn’t play well at all. Even with a five man midfield, Utd failed to dominate the centre of the pitch and with Rooney up front on his own, made very little impact on the game. Ruud came on with 30 minutes to go but because he was back from a 3 month injury, he too failed to make much of an impact.

It’s certainly going to be an uphill battle in the second leg!

BBC Sport : Man Utd -v- AC Milan

Big game for Man Utd tonight! I hope Van the Man makes his return. We could do with him up front. Not that Rooney isn’t doing a good job at the moment. He is, but you can’t not be impressed with Ruud’s european goal scoring record.

I hope Sir Alex doesn’t decide to play the likes of Quinten Fortune or Phil Neville. We’ll need all the big players (like Giggs, Scholes, Keane, Ronaldo) tonight. Let’s make sure we have enough goals under our belt for when we have to go to the San Siro.

Good luck Man Utd !!

Irish duo could block Man Utd bid

Irishmen JP McManus and John Magnier, who own a 29% stake in Manchester United, will reportedly reject any formal £800m offer for the club.

From one Irishman to two others….. PLEASE reject any takeover bid from this money grabber.

  • Can’t take no for an answer?

Glazer makes new Man Utd approach

Can’t this guy take no for answer? This is his third attempt at a takeover! The last two failed because of The Board of Directors and the Supporters Club.

“Will this man not take no for an answer?”
“We have made our feelings about him perfectly clear. We do not want him involved in our club.”
“We do not see any way that his influence can benefit us.”

I think that pretty much sums up how I feel about this takeover bid.

Another top quality display from the Red Devils. I must admit, I didn’t think Utd could go to Highbury and win. The best I had hoped for was a draw - even though that would have been the best result for Chelsea.

The lads played out of their skin and totally deserved the win. Tonite’s game was the first game in many that really excited me. I was off my seat at least a dozen times during it. It was such a cool feelin’ being so passionate about something.

Let’s hope Blackburn can do us a favour tomorrow night against Chelsea *fingers crossed*.

  • Another BAD Result!

    Man Utd 0-0 Man City

I think Sir Alex’s statement summed up their display on Sunday quite well:
“We are not good enough to win the title on that display - we have dropped another two points”

Come on guys! Get your act together. You’re better than that!

What more can I say? If they can’t beat the likes of Man City, Portsmouth or Birmingham then they don’t deserve to win the title this season. It’s as simple as that.

Let’s see if they can manage a win against Newcastle in their next premiership game. A result like Fulham managed against Newcastle would be nice (Newcastle 1-4 Fulham)
